Team Parker

The votes are in, and the majority has spoken: I will see both movies, because hey, twice the singing. Though I do need to use this ticket before the thing leaves the theatres, so I'll see them in reverse order. It doesn't look like like a complicated plot line. I think I'll survive.

Though with this latest development, I may be otherwise engaged for a long time:

That's right, girls! Everyone's favorite Tiger-Beat, Pepsodent-smile, blow-dried, teen-mystery series from the 70s is now on Netflix!

All Memorial Day barbeques, baseball games and parades are hereby CANCELLED. Return to your homes!

::sigh::

Just look at him. All my girlfriends were Team Shaun, but he was a skinny little stick. I only ever had eyes for Parker.

Shaun Cassidy. My little girl's heart's crush. Talk about flashbacks! And I had the album he recorded.

Hey, Deanie, won't you come out tonight? Stars are dancing like diamonds in the moonlight, and we could never find a better time to be in loooove...

(Holy merde, I'm suddenly back in eighth grade.)

Wow, you were old enough to have hormones.

We should do another poll. Team Parker, Team Shaun, or Team WTF

[identity profile] stgulik.livejournal.com 2015-05-23 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Or Team Nancy. Equal time must be afforded.

I had the biggest crush on David Cassidy. There was a boy in my school who bore a resemblance to him, so consequently I kept drooling over him throughout high school. Then, if he actually spoke to me, I'd say something really stupid or incomprehensible, and he probably thought I was a bit... challenged, shall we say.

I was a Parker nut, too.

Tiger Beat and 16? Every penny of allowance went to both of those every week. My bedroom was covered with their pages and posters.

My biggest crush though, was Les McKeown of the Bay City Rollers. I was going to marry him. I sure was. Didn't matter I was only in the seventh grade.

I don't think the show ever aired in Germany but the guy in the middle looks vaguely familiar like somebody I might have drooled over but on another show?

EDIT: Finding out was a bit harder than I thought but here it is:

North and South! Or "Fackeln im Sturm" (Torches in the Storm) as it was titled in Germany. Parker Stevenson was definitely my favourite!

I spent hours and hours watching with my grandmother. Literally. She was one of the first people in our family to have a VCR in the early 80s and she recorded such gems as: The Thornbirds, North and South, Escrava Isaura...

Good times.

It's like they were carved out of cream cheese. Those smiles were off the hook. To be honest, I wasn't a Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys fan. My tastes at that time were a little more...esoteric.
