I got a promotion this week!
It was several months in the making. I had actually started searching for another job, because my boss had told me it wasn't going to happen because I wasn't first on their list of preferred employees in the new job classification. Which made me feel really special. But when it came time, I applied anyway, and it seems I pleasantly surprised them in the interview. I moved myself to the top of the list, thanks to my powers of persuasion!

I have read that women make less than men NOT because of prejudice, but simply because they are brought up not to ASK for what they want. They think that hard work will be noticed and rewarded automatically, and it isn't. One still has to ask! Congratulations on channeling your animus!
