The worst part of being a beta

is when a writer posts her fic, and I go to read it, and I see SPaG errors I should have caught the first time.

I've read some things three or four times, and I still find stuff. Can't help but feel cross-eyed after a while. Sometimes it just needs a fresh pair of eyes is all.

Don't beat yourself up...you're amazing in your own right.

Aw, it happens to everyone, lovely. There are people who have the kinds of brains that never, ever miss a typo and then there's the rest of us.

Even the best beta readers are still human. Much as I know many of us wish we could be perfect. Sometimes typos just slip through, no matter how carefully the text is combed through. :) So no beating yourself up about it!

Oh, and perhaps if the author is one that wouldn't mind, you could shoot them a message pointing out the errors that were missed, so they can be corrected. I know I'd do it if it were me!

Well, once I stopped laughing long enough to be able to type, I went in and fixed the mistake. No harm done, and no one else mentioned it, like 'grow and pair', but it did put a bit ol' smile on my face to picture Severus as the 'Man of the Dessert'. It sounds like it should be a category for Time Magazine.

Come to think on it, though, he is rather yummy...

I don't know about you, but I could happily live with the image of Severus Snape covered in chocolate sauce, just waiting to be savoured!

Quite a tasty combination if you ask me!
