Le sigh

Well, all good things must come to an end. Last Friday, I got voted off in the ongoing [livejournal.com profile] snupin_ldws drabble-writing challenge.

My gosh, this whole challenge was a kick in the pants! I loved every week and I spent hours obsessing on each story. It really opened my eyes to my own potential, as well as my shortcomings. And as my lovely cheerleader pointed out, I made it to the top three before elimination, which is pretty far for someone who had never written fanfic before.

Next Tuesday is the last round! So show the finalists some love and vote by Friday, June 22.

I posted three of them on TPP, and the validators were truly professional and easy to understand, but I found the process itself a little nerve-wracking.  It's like the old cliché about doctors making the worst patients. Pretty sure I'll just post everything  here next week and be done with it.

Congrats to you for getting so far before elimination! And even more so for entering a LDWS challenge as a newbie fanfic author.

I didn't want to, but Teddy made me! ;-)

Teddy can be quite persuasive charming, can't she?

you did a really awesome job and you should feel really proud about how well you did, especially for a newbie author! and that whole thing about being aware of our shortcomings - that is what spurs us on to learn how to improve and become better. it can be painful, but ultimately rewarding, i think.

and i will always remember how happy it made me when i became validated at tpp and so could skip all the queue wibbles.

Hey, so did you! (I mean, so *are* you, Madame Finalist.) It was great to meet you and the other authors.

I didn't know you could become validated on TPP. That might be something to work toward.

yeah, it's a good thing. :) they will want to see consistently clean work from you for a while first.

I thought you were wonderful. Then again, that's not exactly news, is it?

Congratulations on a series of fantastic drabbles. I enjoyed each and every one of them (especially the kissing one - best slash kiss evah) and I really hope that you will continue to enjoy writing. I'm having a ball with our sooper sekrit project ;) and look forward to all your future work. Brava

TPP hasn't validated me yet, but I think Ashwinder might have. I take a loooong time to post at TPP.

Okay, I'm obsessing over our sooper sekret project too. It's all I can do to step away from the computer sometimes. In another month my house will be eligible for that hoarder show.
