Bizzy weekend

stgulikHad a busy weekend. Saturday, Groom and I went to a wedding near Santa Rosa, of two young people in their early 30s. We had no idea what to expect for the theme. The look of the invitation (black with purple print) seemed to suggest it would be a Halloween-y, happy!Goth-themed affair. But when we got there, we found the ceremony and catered reception were being held at an upscale tavern, and the retro theme was sort of California Autumn meets 'Happy Days,' which was creative and beautiful.
I wore a black print dress and sandals, appropriate for any October wedding, so I was all right there. Very glad I did not try and second-guess the bridal couple and wear a Death Eater costume.
Came back into town in time to pick up my father from the airport. He is visiting from West Virginia for a week. I'm so glad to have him here; he is such good company and I love him and miss him when we are apart too long.
I can't let him catch me writing, though, or it will break the spell. If you don't understand that, don't bother to ask. I'm weird, I guess. I am still writing my Promptfest longhand, so I can escape to the bedroom and write before bedtime this week.
