I think an argument can definitely be made. I tend to think it's odd to listen to JKR make these sorts of remarks years after the books were published. My view is, if you want your hero to marry the bookworm, write another book! But hey, if she can rethink her pairings, it lends credence to our desire to change up the pairings too.
