Crazy May

May, being the end of the academic year, is a crazy month even in normal years. But this year, my girl graduates from high school! Every day, it seems, brings with it a new social or musical engagement, quite apart from finals. Seniors are all given quite a long, involved, emotion-laden send-off at this school, as if they're all being sacrificed in volcanos instead of just enrolling in community college.

Graduation is tomorrow evening. Today, my dad flies in from the East Coast, and more family will show up in the afternoon. The weekend is shaping up to be fairly well-programmed. Finally next Monday, I can go back to work and get some sleep.

Maybe the community college is inside an active volcano? I would check into this before just enrolling willy-nilly!

Oh gosh!

My oldest is starting high school in autumn (8th grade). I can't believe how quickly primary school went by. I am sure I will be saying the same thing when she finishes secondary school.

Eeeep.

Congratulations to your beautiful daughter! I know you are so proud of her, yet looking forward to some quiet Jules-time.

Have a lovely weekend with family and friends - this is a super special occasion! ♥

Congratulations to your daughter! My son's school was similar when he finished last year (our school year is January to December - summery Christmases and all that, don't cha know).

The senior class' endless farewells would have been more in keeping if they'd been going out to colonise space or something, but, then again, in a world that seems to celebrate so much of the negative in teen culture, I figured that a positive rite of passage really can't be a bad thing, so jumped in with both feet.
