Very solid, with lots of surprises and things that made me laugh with pleasure. I think I liked the wedding episode the best, simply because it started out so dry, it nearly bored me to death. Suddenly, every element clicked into place for Sherlock at the same time as the viewer. Excellent timing and plotline.
I get the fair impression that, with this season, the writers have finally decided to cater firmly to fangurls. My god, there was an abundance of UST between John and Sherlock. I don't ship them at all, but even I fully expected them to fall into bed after that business with Mary in the railway house. Nobody can endure that much smoldering eye contact and not want to give into the urge to take the next step! But maybe I read too much into it all; I did watch every episode in one day, which was probably more intense an experience than was intended.
