It's 3:30 on Thanksgiving day, and I'm texting this on my phone while I take a break from a house stuffed with cooking foods and boisterous family. Here on the chilly front porch, I am sheltered from a fine mist that would be snow if the temperature weren't close to 50 degrees. The front yard is claustrophobia-inducung, yet whenever I visit I love sitting here at some point in the afternoon, envisioning the things I wish I could do to it.
Distant family died last week. Due to the politics of divorce, none of us felt comfortable intruding on the funeral. But we sat together today, remiscing and having our own memorial.
This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for my little family. what we lack in numbers, we make up for in determination.
I'm Thankful for all of you, for your writing abilities and your generosity in sharing with this community.
I'm thankful for my health, my job and my abilities.
I'm thankful to be of use in the world.

Date: 2011-11-25 12:24 am (UTC)When I list all the many things I am thankful for, you are at least seven of them. Thank you for being the best beta, sounding board, confidante and cheerleader a writer could possibly pray to have. You are one of the most essential ingredients on my Thanksgiving table.
