Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] teddyradiator. I have time now that LML Chapter 31 is beta'd and back with its mummy.

1. Who was your FIRST prom date? A guy named John. I thought I loved him and was sure we'd get married some day. But soon after high school, he came out of the closet, then joined the Moonies, then married a girl ... and then later broke away from the church and started his own cult. Would you say I dodged a bullet?
2. Do you still talk to your FIRST love? –  (See above.) Very rarely. We don't have much in common. Surprising, I know.

3. What was your FIRST alcoholic drink? Ook. Franzia white wine, the kind in the box.
4. What was your FIRST job? – Wendy's, as a burger slinger
5. What was your FIRST car? – A Subaru, tiny and white, with a sewing machine engine. I loved that thing.
6. Who was the FIRST person to text you today? – My brother, asking about a song from the 80s.
8. Who was your FIRST grade teacher, tell us about them? – Mrs. Zimmerman. Oh, how I loved her. She had a great sense of humor. I'll never forget when she taught us about the motion of the Earth. She became the Earth. She stood up and rocked from side to side (the seasons), turned round and round (day and night), and on top of that, made her way all around the classroom (the movement around the sun).
9. Where did you go on your FIRST air plane ride? – Modesto, California, so we could buy a house and move here. I was 14.
10. Who was your FIRST best friend & do you still talk? – Patti, circa Kindergarten. I'm afraid we lost touch after I moved to California.
11. Where was your FIRST sleep over? – My friend Peggy's house. Good times.
12. Who was your first kiss? – The John I went to prom with. Before all the changes, he was actually a good kisser.
13. Whose wedding were you in the FIRST time? – My uncle Don's. I was five and a flower girl. I don't remember a single thing about it except from people's stories. They say I was a total pillbox at the rehearsal, but for the ceremony, I meticulously dropped daisy petals down the aisle like a champion.
14. What was the FIRST thing you did this morning? – Made coffee.
15. What was the FIRST concert you ever went to? –  Greg Kihn. Remember him? They don' write 'em like that anymooooore ...
16. FIRST tattoo? – Oh, no no no no no.
17. FIRST piercing? – Ears, age 17. It was a birthday present from my father.
18. FIRST foreign country you went to? – I've only ever been to Canada, which shouldn't really count.
19. FIRST movie you remember seeing? – Bedknobs and Broomsticks. My grandmother and her best friend were dying to see it, and they took all us grandkids as an excuse. We had a great time.
20. When was your FIRST detention? – Seventh grade, I think, which was age 12. I don't remember the alleged infraction.
22. Who was your FIRST roommate? – I have never had a roommate! I lived at home until I got married.
23. If you had one wish, what would it be? – To be a better writer.
24. What is something you would learn if you had the chance? – To play piano.
25. Did you marry the FIRST person to ask for your hand in marriage? – Yes! And glad of it.
26. What was the first sport that you were involved in? – Um, involved in? I played tennis a bit in college, but not competitively by any means.
27. What were the first lessons you ever took? – Flute - first from my father, then from teachers through college.
28. What is the first thing you do when you get home? – Put down my bags and keys and pet the dogs.

I'm glad I'm not the only one whose first boyfriends turned out to be gay. That's right -- boyfriendS, plural. My first boyfriend, Michael, and I used to longingly gaze at each other across the pew in church every Sunday. Little did I know, he was probably just gazing longingly at my outfits. I was a snappy dresser, even at 14. Once he went to an all-boy Catholic high school, however, it seems that he quickly figured out that he was gay. Last I heard he was in San Francisco, was a snappy dresser himself, and just happened to be the first love of one of my gay friends here. Small world.

Second boyfriend, Don, was a really good french kisser, but we never got beyond that stage. In short order, he came out of the closet, and he ALSO joined a religious cult. Whenever I ran into him after that, he always tried to "save" me. Then he apparently left the cult and decided he was BI-sexual. Which to ME just means that he is greedy. (Just kidding!)

You still in Modesto? (this sounds like the kind of thing I knew, possibly even partly friended you over, but I forget, if so; mea culpa in that case!) It's a bit of a trek, but [livejournal.com profile] slashpervert in the east bay has Harry Potter teas every so often, mostly a bunch of chicks cackling over slashy stuff, you know the kind of thing. There is likely to be one this month. Drop her a line and see if you can get the details, if you're interested; it'd be cool to meet you :)

Yes, I still live in Central California. I have lots of real-life blog friends in the Bay Area, but no fanfic-related ones (yet)!
