Today we found out our office is getting a brand-new director. Our current boss, who has been Acting Director, will either be bumped down to Assistant Director, or bumped further down to Lowly Analyst, like the rest of us. He is Mr. Depressed right now, though he's trying not to show it. Meanwhile, the rest of us have been googling the crap out of the new director, hoping to glean insight into what her priorities might be when she comes aboard.

All this by way of saying, today was somewhat fraught. Still, I'm really looking forward to a new direction. Will she improve the place, polish it up, return it to its former glory? Will she take the place apart and sell it on Craigslist? I've been there eight years and frankly, either way works for me. I'm good.

At the drug store, I earned one free ticket to see Pitch Perfect 2. Do you think I ought to see the first Pitch Perfect, or would I understand the sequel without seeing the original?

Take the survey below!

I went to see PP2 a few days ago because I had time to kill and the movie was starting when I drove up. I've never seen PP, and I adored PP2.
I've tried to find PP on streaming and haven't yet. I might have to buy it on disc to watch it.

Netflix has it but not for streaming, you have to get the disc. Mr Psmith and I just saw it and laughed like crazy people -- it was excellent.

I'm sending back a couple of disks so they'll send PP1 on over!

I am so out of the loop on this one. Never even heard of it.

I've seen the previews and it looks fun, if a little formulaic, but hey, it's lots of posing wrapped around a lot of good singing, and it's free! I'd run with it, and if you enjoy it, you can always Netflix the original.

Edit because: I was so wrapped up in the important stuff I forgot to mention the game changing going on at work. I hope your new commandant will at least ease into things. It's easier to move an elephant across the room if you do it an inch at a time. By the time he's gone from one side to the other, no one has even clocked the difference.

I actually saw PP recently, and I did enjoy it, although there were bits I could have done without.

My mom and sister said that PP2 was really good, but again there was a bit or two that went too far. (In their opinion. I've yet to see it.)

Can't hurt to see both, I guess?

I had never heard of this, saw the preview for #2, and immediately said "I must see the first one!" Mr Psmith and I saw it tonight and it was fabulous -- funny, clever, amazing singing/dancing. And it passes the Bechdel test hands down.

Side note: The idea that one can "google the crap out of" someone made me giggle. We will soon have a new boss-of-my-boss and I can't wait to google the crap out of them :)
