As May draws to a close, I look at my calendar on the sidebar and see that I *very nearly* achieved the goal of posting Something Every Day. I'm pleased. From now on, my goal is to post on LJ at least twice a week. It's entertaining, and now I can see by the number of comments which types of things the flist responds to most, and I can explore those some more. Being a nearly-empty-nester, I need new hobbies.
Speaking of hobbies, here's where I am on that Chinese (Japanese?) (Asian) tile piece. This morning, I brought out some sand paper and began sanding off the old glue underneath the now-removed silk brocade. I had moderate levels of success.
When I went to sponge off the dust with a paper towel, I saw that dampening the glue would achieve better results. I'll continue tomorrow morning and hopefully finish entirely removing the glue this weekend. Then I can paint--which, let's face it, is the only fun part.

I woke up at midnight and was up half the night with a scorching case of indigestion. Asian art is beautiful, but Chinese take-out is not always my friend. Being an old hand at weathering insomnia, I learned long ago never to linger in bed, waiting for sleep, because it leads to thoughts of real despair. I took rantadine and did little chores like hem the Groom's trousers while I finished this season of "Modern Family." Finally about 5:30 I conked out again. Since it's a weekend day, I hereby reserve the right to nap later.
