Five things

My dear [livejournal.com profile] candamira passed this meme onto me, so I will do my best to answer...

Five things that make me happy right now:

1) Coffee. Always and forever. The food police continually try to find reasons why coffee is destroying our collective health. But they never shall! They will always be defeated!

2) Finding jobs on the public employee job board that thrill me. I just found one tonight, and happily spent an hour jumping through all the paperwork hoops in order to apply. No staples on the application packet? Check. Job number, hyphenated, written in the correct box? Check. Statement of Qualifications Resume? Check. Do not include the EEO questionnaire in the packet? ::wad wad wad, fling:: Check!

3) Going vegetarian. I haven't had meat in almost a year, and it's been terrific.

4) This video of The Brother Comatose covering "Brokedown Palace." Is it weird that I never remember to listen to the Grateful Dead, but I'm a sucker for Dead covers?

5) Sense8, the original series on Netflix, created by the Wachowski siblings. Fair warning: it's violent and so sexually graphic, it makes OITNB look like The Sound of Music. But if that's your cup of tea coffee, I recommend it. I've finished the first season and I'm desperate for someone to talk to about it. Tumblr doesn't count. Which reminds me: DO NOT visit my Tumblr page; it is nothing but Sense8 gifs. I've gone mad.

Very interesting list! I'm a stay-at-home mom at the moment, but I know how important the right job is for one's happiness. Good luck for your current application!

Husband and I had big plans on cutting down tv-time. Didn't work out entirely, we're watching one or two episodes of a series every evening after the little one finally's fallen asleep. Tried 'Homeland' recently, but couldn't stand Claire Danes's wide eyes and superhectic behaviour all the time. Guess we'll catch up with GoT next.

Btw: I would have loved to idle away some time watching the bear cam, but we don't have access to it from Germany :(. Really liked that rec!

Too bad about the bear cam! There are lots of other cams listed at the bottom of the page, from other countries. It might be worthwhile to check them for availability in Germany.

Don't beat yourself about a few hours of TV time when you're new parents. Be sure you go out on dates every once in a while.

My fingers and toes and eyes are crossed for your success in applying for the job, and as soon as I can speak to Mom, I'm onto Sense8. It sounds so up my street!

I will happily accept this challenge!! ♥

I'm watching the whole series again because I just plain didn't understand the details the first time around. Could really use a friend here.

The job looks cool. Off to submit the application this morning.

Netflix is life. Cut something else out and get it. How much do you really need breakfast?

hooray for exciting job possibility. and i'm listening to that song. i can see why you like it. :)

i used to be a vegetarian - well, at least mostly. if i was at someone's house and they served me unvegetarian cuisine, i ate it w/o a fuss. i constantly think about going back to it, so maybe you will inspire me. truth is i never cook meat except for bacon, lol, so that limits my consumption a little bit.

and i shall happily take the baton and see what i can do with it. :)

"i constantly think about going back to it"

Do it! Or you might just reduce the amount of meat you eat, instead of going full vegetarian.

"i never cook meat except for bacon, lol"

Oh! You already have, LOL. I admit I do miss the taste of bacon.
